A little while back you sent me a setup for F12001 for Germany along with
some advice on controller settings, ie speed sensitivity, etc.
I just built a new system and in the process of moving some files over I
have lost this, and had already uninstalled F12001 from my old system.
Could you possibly send this to me again?
Many thanks,
Don Burnette
Don;
Anytime you have more insomnia<G> and want to try F12001 online, let me
know.

How do you race online with F12001 and how many drivers can run together?

I just ran a Germany race on my new system, man it rocks. Everything on
full, getting 60-70 fps, looks great.
I'll give EA credit for one thing, improving the graphics with each release
while alway tweaking it to improve the framerates.

Best modern F1 sim ever IMO. Ran an A1
race last night. For whatever reason, I've always done well at this track
in past sims.
Same with this one; cruising along, few laps left of a 50% GP, in
second........and I brainfade and get on the gas to quick and send carbon
fiber shards everywhere, lol.
The sim's just plain, 'ole, FUN, irregardless of any faults.

demo. F1-2001 is a total "sleeper" great sim....and I am not an F1 fan at
all. But, its hard to stay out of the McLaren cockpit since I installed
this thing on Christmas day. What a true "joy" to drive!
Too bad "multiplayer" is a tad week on the number of "players"...but I think
that will get improved as EA realizes they "have a winner" with this one!
As far as I'm concerned, anyone else currently making an F1 sim....should
"stop work now"....go make something else, this is the one we'll be racing
for many years to come!

Good, meaning cable modem? I want to try that one of these days...

I hope you have better luck than I, Eldred. I have joined several
races, only to be shown a message whenever I venture out onto the track
-- "You have been removed from this game"
The same event happens even when I've been chatting with the race host
after joining, so I know it is not a case of the host kicking me off
because I lack credentials, ratings, or am not in his small circle of
friends. I have yet to turn a wheel against another human, online.
I have tried hosting myself, but the combination of my router, my
firewall, or more odd-ball stuff with either Relay or EA's multiplayer
mode seems to prevent anyone from joining me.
Lest anyone think I am a bit of a hopeless case, I have been running
GPL races, both as a host and joining races, for over a year. If I had
a fraction of the troubles that Relay/F1 2001 has given me in
GPL/WinVROC, I'd probably have given up and gone back to playing Flight
Simulator.
The few people who appear in Relay chat seem evenly divided between as
ignorant as I, or helpful but not knowledgeable. Too bad. A potentially
interesting game damned by an impossible multiplayer mode. That's my
verdict until somewho helpful _with_ knowledge can explain why the damn
thing just won't work for me.
Do let me know if you get it working, Eldred. Maybe I'll try it again
if I know someone who can get online with it....

Ok, if I get a chance I'll try it. I signed up, but I didn't read enough to
join. I need a few more practice laps offline, first. I'd hate to join and be
a wrecker simply from lack of skill...<g>
