I got Viper Racing this Christmas and son, daughter, and myself are all
enjoying it, though our driving needs some work! I do have a couple
questions.
In the career upgrades screen, it shows all the upgrades that have been
applied to the car. But it does not how the tires. If the tires have been
purchased, are they automatically added? Reason I ask is I did not notice a
big difference after purchasing the tires. May be related to my driving
skills, but I saw a much bigger difference when upgrading the chassis with
roll bars, shocks, and springs.
What are the differences between racing in arcade, intermediate or
simulation mode? I've tried all three and again did not notice a big
difference, probably related to my driving skills?
When you start a career, you select arcade, intermediate or simulation, how
is the level of AI for the other drivers selected? Is it based on the
current selection in the quick race menu? If so does it change if the quick
race menu is changed?
This is the most addicting computer game I've ever had!

>The tires are automatically added. To be honest it is usually the last
thing I buy - they don't feel very different. The car is sooo heavy that
changes to the suspension and weight will make the biggest difference. My
personal favourite purchases are the lowering springs and nylon bushings.
Don't be duped by spending ages setting up the wings, the springs and
dampers need most work.

>Simulation mode is an accurate physical model. Arcade is for people who
like the back to slide around like it does on Gran Turismo or something.
You only use that when you are whooping your friends ass and you think they
need a little help. Just try putting your foot down exiting a corner and
you'll notice the difference (the last corner at Silverdale is the most
obvious place).

The level of the AI is based upon the league you're in (Amateur, Pro, etc.).
The quick race menu and the career mode are totally unrelated. No change in
either will affect the other.

The best driving hint for viper is smoothness. Don't move the wheel too
much - the car is very twitchy and being so heavy and powerful it unbalances
very easy and is very difficult to recover. The best place to practice is
Dayton, use the accelerator very carefully and be prepared for the bumps.
Chris (dangerously close to winning GT class after 4 years of fragmented
playing)

Just like all the other parts, it adds the tires automatically when they are
purchased. Tires will have more of an impact once you learn how to push the
car to it's limits.
I never really raced in anything other than sim mode, but i think it just
dumbs down the physics and/or adds a lot of grip. I do remember there being
a difference, so it could be just you still needed some seat time to tell
the difference.
As far as the AI in career mode...i'm not really sure how they're adjusted.
They seem to just somehow keep pace with you as you progress.
