What time do the SuperTourers do around the mountain? I think they said
Skaife (sp?) did a 2:10 this year in a V8. I'm just wondering for setting
up SCGT .veh files
How do they work the co-driver? I realize that some are Europeans
parachuted in, ie. John Cleland this year, but where are the others from?
They didn't seem to combine two strong teams. ie Skaife and Bright in one
car for HRT. I realize it's a fact of life in other disciplines but this
counted for their championship, so how do they insure that top guys aren't
saddled with some yahoo who stuffs it into the tires on lap 20 or who plods
along doing 3:10's and ruining their teammates chances?
The coverage on SV was an hour highlight package so it was a little broken
up (still very enjoyable) so I couldn't figure out how long each driver was
in the car. Is there a minimum?
TIA

Tough crowd. Bright came 3rd in the V8 Supercar series and is an
exceptionally capable driver.
Can't answer the Super Tourers question, they're 4 cylinders short
of making me want to watch.
Cheers,
Rod.
The Drivers must be in the car for a certain percentage of the race. One
Super Touring team lost the trophy when they found the 2nd driver was only
in for about 20% of the laps. I'm not sure what the exact number is...and
I'm guessing about the percentage, but it is a requirement.
Times for super tourers??? We'd have to find an Aussie with tapes or
DVD's of the old 4 cylinder times.

The 2litres where getting lap times of 2m20s during the race. The link
below has the race results of the '97 race (when the BTTC came over.)
