After going through the startup menus and arriving in the car, it rolls violently from side to side with the engine screaming. Have to close the game and restart and sometimes takes 3 or 4 attempts. Anyone else have this problem or know a fix? Thanks, Glenn

First of all, have you patched the game to version 1.0.7.4? Engine screaming: make sure you set up the gas/brake pedals in the controllers section before you race. Maybe the axes are configured in the wrong way as it is now, making the game think you press the gas pedal all the way, when in fact you don't press it at all. I've had similar experiences with Midtown Madness (1+2), which couldn't handle a split axis setup (F1 2001 does work with split axis, so make sure you set up your wheel this way). Maybe the violent movement of the car was also caused by the engine screaming? Ice D
Yep, the pedals are configured okay and the game is patched. It does actually work fine, but sometimes only after 3 or 4 restarts. It's just annoying to have to do this all the time. Thanks for your suggestions though. Glenn Ice D wrote:
