Codemasters V8 Supercars Race Driver game revealed

Todd Wasson linked an article about a V8 Supercars racing game for Australia, which Jan Verschueren noted was Codemasters localising its Race Driver game, with a DTM version also planned. Australians who saw an in-store demo were unimpressed by the track graphics and handling but stayed optimistic. Others regretted that there was no mention of multiplayer.

Wonder if and what series they might pick for the American market. Jan. =--- "Pay attention when I'm talking to you boy!" -Foghorn Leghorn.

A friend of mine saw an early rolling demo of the new EA Sports V8 Supercar game. He said that he couldn't really tell much from watching a TV camera view, but he said that the track graphics were a bit sparse and that the car didn't look to be gripping the road very convincingly.

Looks that way, since they say "These factors all make it likely the Australian version of the game will be one of our best efforts." Don't know about this whole "follow a story line and go through the ranks" type thing. Sounds like Days of Thunder turned into a V8 Supercar game. :( Well any game based on the V8s has to be worth checking out anyway, maybe this one will be better than DJ's V8 challenge :P Rafe Mc

I probably saw the same demo (if they were demo'ing the product where they said they would today then they hid is exceptionally well) at Hardly Normal of all places. Cars seemed to be too narrow and the handling didn't look all that great, but I'm an eternal optimist. Cheers, Rod.

I too am an optimist - even something with the quality of TOCA 2 and Bathurst with V8s would rock my world..

Yet still no mention of any multiplayer aspects. Why bother releasing a racing game in todyas day and age without it. Unless they think we all console heads. Stu Coutts "Rod Prince" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

IMHO a V8 must sound like a V8. Not like the worthless sounds from most of todays sims. I hope the next sim sports good engine sounds. "Chris_K" <targanon@"""""iprimus.com.au> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...
