I am loving my Momo, but am thinking I might like my TSW2 pedals better. For
one thing, I am struggling in F12001, seems like it is much harder now to
control my acceleration without spinning the car than it was when I was
using my TSW2. I don't know if it is related to the FF or to the short
throws of the pedals.
Anyway, I have a stock TSW2 - single axis, as I haven't added the
single/dual switch to it as yet.
If I run the TSW2 pedals with the Momo, I will lose my dual axis won't I? I
would have to add the single/dual switch to the TSW2 to be able to use dual
axis with the Momo correct? I would hate to lose this feature after finally
getting it.
I assume all I do is hook up the TSW2 pedals to the TSW2 wheel, and plug it
into my joystick port, and run it in tandem with the Momo plugged into the
USB port correct?
Any advice greatly appreciated,
Don Burnette
Yeah Don, for some strange reason, F1-2001 and the Momo don't marry too
well. There's a discussion and some possible solutions to your problem

I'm running an LWFF with original TSW pedals. You are correct in all of your
assumptions. First of all, running the wheel in USB (or serial port), and the
pedals (thru the TSW wheel) in the gameport should work fine in F1 2001, and in
other sims such as GPL, N4, etc. However, in order to have split axis on the
pedals, you WILL need the single/dual switch from TSW. I have it on my TSW, and
it works great.
I can't give specific advice on the Momo, but this is how it works with the
LWFF.
Good Luck.

You can send your TSW2 pedals back to TSW along w. yer MOMO wheel & pedals
and they will connect it all up. I did this with my LWFF wheel and it was
great. I've emailed Dave Jr. and he says he can do the same for the MOMO.
I just need to find the proper hole in my schedule and I'm there. TSW is a
great outfit to deal with. Very responsive.

With the stock, out-of-the-box Momo, I had the common F12001 problem
of no throttle response for about the first 50% of the pedal travel.
Although the Momo pedals are an improvement over the LWFF pedals, I
still don't like them (too "mushy", not enough travel and not enough
precision). I've had my TSW for about 5 years and love my pedals,
although I prefer the Logitech wheel and the force feedback.
What I did was open up the Momo pedals and move the guts (pots,
wiring, the whole shebang) over to my TSW pedal unit. It was quite
simple really, the only difficulty comes from the fact that the
Logitech pots don't have the little locking nut to secure the pots to
the unit, but I used a couple of small rubber grommets to attach the
shaft to the unit and it works perfectly, albeit a bit rudimentary at
the present time. I'm going to be looking for some 10K pots with the
nuts in order to make the installation a bit cleaner. So, now worries
about setting up multiple controllers, single/dual axis switches, etc.
I no longer have the throttle lag problem in F12001, response is
uniform all the way through the range. If anything, it's a bit too
sensitive at the lower end, but I can live with it by cranking the
throttle assistance up to "high". It's weird, though, I had been
using the same setup with my LWFF wheel, but using the 100K Ohm spec
pots that I ordered from Thomas a couple of years ago in my TSW
pedals. For some reason, though, these pots just would NOT work with
the Momo. With the LWFF and the 100K Ohm pots in my TSW pedals I
could run mid 1:19s at Montreal all day long with throttle assistance
on low. However, the Momo seems to be using 10K Ohm pots and with
these in my TSW pedals and throttle assistance on low, I'm spinning a
lot under acceleration so that's why I had to raise the throttle
assistance to high. I'm now running approximately the same times with
my Momo as with my LWFF although with throttle assistancebumped up a
notch.
So, for me anyway, throttle assistance on low with 100k Ohm pots feels
exactly the same as throttle assistance on high with 10k Ohm pots.
I'm not an electrician, but I'm assuming that the increased
sensitivity is due to a shorter electrical range (0 - 10K versus 0 -
100K) over the same distance of pedal travel? Does this make sense?

Yes, that makes sense on the difference in pots. Hmm, perhaps I ought to
crank my throttle assist up, might stabilize things somewhat for me in
F12001.
