Just in case you haven't heard, the 27.10 DetonatorXPs have been leaked...
Some people say they've had problems with them, but I had none...got a
modest little increase in 3dMark 2001 with my Celeron 750 (900 underclocked,
as it's dying...*sigh*) and GF2 MX200 just from going to 23.11 to 27.10.
Of course, once I tossed NVMax in there as well, I got a much better
improvement...hehe...long live overclocking!
What's everyone else's opinions on these drivers?

Why is it any better than, say, HZTool?

I just like it because of the three video card overclocking methods I've
tried (CoolBits hack, Powerstrip, NVMax), it works (unlike CoolBits...go
figure!) and is very unobtrusive (unlike Powerstrip).

I bet what we might consider minor changes get considered changes major
enough at nVidia to warrant another full version...
I mean, there were what, the 6.xx drivers, 14.xx drivers, 21.xx drivers,
23.xx drivers, and now the (technically unreleased) 27.xx drivers... I
think there's a few 22's, 24's, and maybe a 25...with a few exceptions, I
bet most drivers at nVidia never see the light of day. The few we get are
probably the better ones, leaked by someone or left on the wrong FTP or
something...

Yeah, which 545 cars did Porsche produce between the 356 and the 911?
Lessee, there was the 550 Rennsport, the 718 RSK Spyder, Gurney's 804 F1
car....

<<How the hell do we get from 23.xx to 27.xx ?>>
In the same vein: how did Porsche get from, say, their 356th model to their
911th model w/o 545 cars in between?
This is a trick question: the 911 is actually Porsche's 901st design
(Peugeot claimed they had a lock on any 3-digit car model designations with
a "0" in the middle), but then yer obviously neither a math nor a car
person, so...
Never mind.

I'd link the site, but the thing is in a lanquage I can't understand and I

>>Some of you might have noticed the big jump in the version numbers of the
Detonator drivers. It's actually easy once you understand how it works. They
number the drivers from the latest chip it supports. For the NV25, and until
the NV30 is released, all the drivers will be numbered between 25.00 and
29.99. Some beta drivers were released today (version 27.10), so they
support the upcoming GeForce 4. When the NV30 is released, the driver
numbers will be from 30.00 to 34.99, until the NV35.. and so on!
