Will there be F1 2002?

After the improvents of F1 2001 over F1 2000, I am wondering what will be the next version. I remember EA buying the F1 license for several years and they were supposed to release a new version every year. Does anyone know the roadmap for these titles? TF

All I know is that F1 2001 is hard to find, or heavily discounted. That's usually a sign of a sim that's about to be superseded. People mention flaws with some of the features of this title, but seem to like the racing. If a newer and better version is on the way, I'll wait. Larry

May 17th I seem to remember reading somewhere for F1 2002. IMO after a shaky start with F1200 the EA F1 series has surpassed all other F1 sims such as Crammond's dated titles and UBIsoft's series. In whatever state F1 2002 is two weeks before that date, will be the release date. (now I will go out on a limb and guess that F1 2002 will NOT be much different than 2001.) A season update with some code enhancements most likely. dave henrie

You're very probably right.. but I hope they get rid of the controller problems, all of those big but oh-so easy to fix flaws (setup saving system anyone) and I hope they get rid of the overall beta feeling.. Oh, some decent multiplayer would be cool too! I still have a problem believing the 'multiplayer stinks because we have to make it stink because of the FIA' crap. If the FIA does not allow more than 6 players online, at least make the game stable with 6 players. Andre
eh, don't think so Andre. F1 2001 was released in October was it not - near the end of the F1 2001 season. F1RC was released near the beginning of the season. Iain "Andre Warringa" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

You may be right, but that's the great thing about F12001 - the hard work has been done. All it really needs now is some enhancements and refinements. On the other hand, GP3 will need a complete overhaul if it is to compete... -- Damien Smith [email hidden] ICQ: 77028579 F1 2001 rank: +27.680

F1-2001 was released a couple days (weeks?) after the 2nd to last race. "Iain Mackenzie" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:J5498.11533$[email hidden]... > eh, don't think so Andre. F1 2001 was released in October was it not -near

Nope. f1 2001 was originally released - at least in New Zealand at $69.95. New games are typically arount $100. The game was always well priced. I can name at least three shops in NZ in my area that have copies of F1 2001 available. > People mention flaws with some of the features of this > title, but seem to like the racing. Yep. The racing is fun and the cars feel great. And of course with the GT 2001 mod it is incredible value for money. Much much better than the GP3 type game. How anyone can release a game where all the cars are identical apart from looks is delusional (although people seem to buy it anyway - go figure). --- Bill
