Can anyone recomend the best video card for NR2002 and F12001.
Best is really a very subjective opinion, I will say my Geforce 3 Ti200
runs both very, very well.
I also though have an Athlon XP1600+ chip and 512 mb ddr ram.

I have GF3 ti 200 and it overclocks nicely to 220/500 - almost Ti500 speed.
I also have it paired with an XP1600+.
The GF4 MX look like a waste of time not as good as GF2 ultra or GF3 (plain
or ti`s)
However, the non-mx versions look special - at a price.
Personally, FPS per /$ I think GF3 Ti200 is hard to beat especially when
they oc so well.
Karl.

What kind of framerates are you getting? And detail settings? I bought the
game and with the same video card, my PIII650 is woefully slow. Am looking
at the Athlon 1600+ chip. I am stuck at about 30fps no matter settings.

Not all geforce cards are built the same.
Thanks to those who follow up.

If money is an issue go with the Gainward GeForce 3 TI200 (Which is actually
the TI450 Golden Sample). If money isn't a question get the TI500.

OK, I need a new computer. Thanks
Bill
one moment please
do you mean to say ALL gainward GF3Ti200 is
a golden sample ???
as far as I know the box would say
" GOLDEN SAMPLE" if you missed that
then the price tag would confirm that .........

Come on guys, ATI Radeon 8500 at 300/600 mhz.

Thanks Don, that is the big brother to what I have (geforce2 MX32), and I
was thinking Hercules was still a premium performer and is not just cost
more? Is that what you think?

Pfff .. yeah .. c'mon guys ... pony up another $360 ... we know just bought
one 18 months ago but it's time again. And get the new processor and you'll
need the DDR ram now to keep up and the NorthBridge/SouthBridge Bridge Over
Troubled Waters Floating Point K2Dee sin tah gray Tor and.. make sure that
image stays at 21" MAX. And you're sitting in an incredibly comfortable
chair.
I gave it up.
I saw some game running on an X-Box and said "This is fucking stupid. For
ten years I've been plowing $2000 in to my machine every 18 months and these
kids come along and run this game at a frame rate like THAT with graphics
like THAT for $300?? And it has an Ethernet port for on-line racing this
summer? And a huge hard drive for custom stuff?"
Pfff ..
Forget it. I'll put it on my 61" Hi-Definition television with the component
output from the thing and the fiber optic hook-in to my 6.1 Dolby system
from it and sit in my La-Z-Boy next to the fire.
Honestly ... I had been hardcore for 10 years until this wave of systems and
said "Alright ...that's enough of this $399 for a new video card or $300 for
an entire system" bullshit.
I gave it up and I'm just not pouring money down a pit everytime another
Nascar game comes out.
In the end, it just ends up being stupid. I mean take an honest look at it
and you'll eventually reach a logical conclusion, whether it's this year or
next or the next but it'll hit you someday.
Go ahead and pound me, I don't care. But someday, you'll eventually say
"Well that was another $1200" and then be at some Wal-Mart and cock your
head like a dog and it'll hit you like a new emotion.
