ATI Rage Fury Pro a little less 3D speed but a lot better card. -- Johnny Ginette

I have the ATI card, got it 2nd hand free, but I can also get the Geforce 256 card, 2nd hand free... it will be going into a p4 1.4 ghz cpu with SB Live Value and 256 DDR ram

PapaDoc has an article comparing GF3 to Voodoo5 and it doesn't look like T&L makes that much of a dif anyway. His Voodoo5 outperformed the GF3 in N4 in D3D mode.

Whether T&L makes a difference or not depends both on the game and on the CPU. For older PC's, less than 1 ghz, T&L can make a huge difference. For newer ones it is less important with current games, but only because current games are still designed with a polygon budget that is suitable for use on non-T&L hardware. As designers continue to increase poly counts in games T&L will continue to become more important.
