Now I am NOT knocking the game as N2002 is truely a masterpiece and a wonderful game to play. However, like many of you, I to am having problems with the dreaded frame rate issues. My system: P4 1.7ghz 512 RDRAM PC 800 Windows ME VisionTek Geforce 3 (not the Ti brand)-using 27.42 drivers. I did try many others as well. IBM DeskStar 75 gig HD 19" NEC FE950+ Multisync monitor ...........and so on.......... My FPS.....25-35 depending what res. I am running. I am running in openGL at 1152x864x16. This is with all the tweaks on in the core & rend_ogl files. Also the a-filtering is turned off in the game as well in player rend_ogl file. Believe me I have everything to ensure proper FPS. In Nascar Racing 4 I was getting 45-65 FPS with same settings, so as you all can see, something isn't right. I did read on this site that Papy may come out with a patch for this. Is there anyone out there that has a clue if this is true or not? Thanks in advance..........later.......vulcan.

In Nascar Racing 4 I was getting 45-65 FPS with same settings,so..... I suppose you have disablet Vsync from the Detonators? I have Xp 1600 + Gf3 ti-200, with the 23.12 drivers. Opengl - 1024 - 32 bit, most of the eye candy on, the fps are 35 - 80 or something. That 35 comes from the end of the full field of ai cars. With the same settings in D3d, my fps's are like 19, when i am alone on the track! :) My guess is that the problem is with the drivers.... - Samu
I guess this could be a problem with the game, but it seems more likely that you need to do some tweaking. I run a P4 1.3 with 256 PC 800 RAM, along with a GeForce 3 ti200 and am getting 100fps in practice and a steady 50-40fps at start up, all cars. This is with all options at high, except for the mirror, which is at medium, and 2x FSAA, running 1024x768x16. I am running the 23.11 drivers.
