I've been playing V2 of the GT mod, and decided to update my Nvidia drivers.
Downloaded and installed 27.42 only to find that the GT mod shortcut now
launches the F1 version. I've not changed anything else and don't understand
what's happened at all. Help, anyone?!
System: AMD Athlon 900, GeForce2 GTS, 448meg RAM, Windows ME.
Thanks in advance,
Rick.
You need to open your config.ini file and copy the graphics part over to
your configfiagtv2.ini. This part is all you need to make sure its the
same..Then it should work fine..
CPURATING=4
SYSTEMRAM=512
VIDEORAM=149
OBJDETAIL=3
TEXDETAIL=2
VIDEOGUID=D7B71E3E-4210-11CF-4579-176001C2C935
GAME_DATABASE=GAME.GDB
VIDEODRIVER=0
VIDEOMODE=5
WINDOWEDMODE=0
PRIMARYONLY=0
FSAA=0
VSYNC=0
Don't know if this is the same thing or not, but whenever I change video
drivers for my card (Radeon 32mb DDR) F1 2001 detects a new video guid
and forces the f1config program to run again. No problem, except that
it only modifies the default config file. So when you try to run the GT
mod again, it goes through the analysis again, but modifies only the
default file AGAIN, and also launches F1 2001 by default. I tried using
a command line argument with it, similar to the one used with the GT Mod
shortcut, and it didn't work. What I ended up doing was copying the
"VIDEOGUID=" line from the default config.ini to the configfiagtv2.ini
file. Everything worked fine after that. The odd thing is that I could
have sworn that they fixed this in V2, but I could not find an updated
shortcut or exe that would work properly.

Thanks both - I'm up and running again. The changes you mentioned did the
trick.
Off for some serious practise now! ;)

Rick.
