Hi,
I used to play GP3 (original CD of course) on my Computer (Athlon
TB800 + Hercules 3D Prophet GeForce2 64 GTS) one year ago.
After 1 year, I wanted to play again.
I installed it again and a major crash during the graphic calibration
occurs.
I did not have this kind of problem when I bought the game :(
I tried to reinstall everything several times but the result is the
same : if GP3 try to use hardware 3D, the game crashs !
My graphic card drivers are up to date, I tried with DX7, DX8a DX8.1
I am so desappointed... dont know what to do :(
please help
do yourself a favor and get F1 2001, it blows away all other F1 sims to
date...Other than that try the new drivers, im using the 27.50s.
I have a similar set-up to you on my PC (TB750, GeForce 2 MX400, DirectX 8,
etc.). I have also found a variety of problems trying to get any games to
work properly with the GeForce 2. I am beginning to wonder if the card is
any good after all. Firstly, both versions of GP3 claim to require that the
graphics be recalibrated everytime I start the game. Secondly, I had to
download the DirectX drivers for GPL as they didn't supply any OpenGL
support. I am still having unresolvable problems with playing Viper Racing
as it frequently and randomly goes to a black screen when changing graphics
modes. And that's only the games I've tried. Do think it might be down to
the Thunderbird?
