Hi everybody, Dl'ed the mord, installed it, love it. But.... My fps go down the drain. W/o mod I don't drop below 60 (IIRC), with the mod it drops down to 20 when passing the pits. Is that normal? Any tweak? TIA JensSchumi BTW: MSI K7T266 A GF2 GTS 64 DDR 256MB --------------------------------------------- LWFF Ball Bearing conversion at: http://jensschumi.tripod.com/ GPLRank: -14.82 Monsters of GPL: sub 95
My frame rates were terrible after installing the patch. I checked the car.gen files and noticed they had been changed by the patch. I put my numbers in and now the fps are back to normal. Here they are: <MAX> MeshFile=<1234>va.MTS CollTarget=False HATTarget=False LODIn=(0.0) LODOut=(40.0) <MAX> MeshFile=<1234>vb.MTS CollTarget=False HATTarget=False LODIn=(40.0) LODOut=(60.0) <MAX> MeshFile=<1234>vc.MTS CollTarget=False HATTarget=False LODIn=(60.0) LODOut=(80.0) <MAX> MeshFile=<1234>vd.MTS CollTarget=False HATTarget=False LODIn=(80.0) LODOut=(200.0) If anybody else has the same problems then just use these (change each car's .gen file in the vehicles folder) and you'll be ok. Same here, in F1 mode, I'm set to "Full" graphics and no FPS problems, but with the GTMod at "Full" I can barely race. I've reduce the graphics to "High" when in GTMod, it helps a lot. I've also reduced the number of cars during races. I guess the GT cars are highly detailed.
They changed the values in the car .gen files for some reason. Change them to the following and you'll see a big difference in full graphics mode. <MAX> MeshFile=<1234>va.MTS CollTarget=False HATTarget=False LODIn=(0.0) LODOut=(40.0) <MAX> MeshFile=<1234>vb.MTS CollTarget=False HATTarget=False LODIn=(40.0) LODOut=(60.0) <MAX> MeshFile=<1234>vc.MTS CollTarget=False HATTarget=False LODIn=(60.0) LODOut=(80.0) <MAX> MeshFile=<1234>vd.MTS CollTarget=False HATTarget=False LODIn=(80.0) LODOut=(200.0) David G Fisher "Alain" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:hMfg8.24925$[email hidden]... > Same here, in F1 mode, I'm set to "Full" graphics and no FPS problems, but > with the GTMod at "Full" I can barely race. Are you running in max graphics? Only makes an improvement if you are. Also, did you make the change in each car's .gen file (360, 550, Lister, Porsce996, viper)? With the F1 cars, you only have to make the change in one file, with the mod you must do it for each car. David G Fisher "David G Fisher" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:dLhg8.301071$[email hidden]...

you know, I just noticed that installing 2.1 changed the files back to the original settings. i'll try again. It is worth noting again that these changes only affect max detail level. The other detail levels in the GT Mod .gen files are totally nonsensical, if you are using something less than max detail you might want to refer to the f1car.gen file to see how they should look. Also, if you would like to use less than max detail, but still not have the cars disappear as they get farther away, just change the final LODOut value for that detail level to something like 200 or 300. That final number represents the distance in meters at which the car will cease to be rendered. Whats the limit to this distance drawn, I was told 500 works but it doesnt seem to make much difference from the 100m or so its at orig. Amazing sim but thats bugging the heck out of me. I like to follow the AI at 95-100% and they get away to quick before I start to make ground. Charlie "Haqsau" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:a5tpo4$a38fv$[email hidden]...

You don't need to set it to 500. 200 or 500 will give you the same effect. They will stay in view until they become tiny specks in the distance. I found that at 200 there were a couple of long straights where I lose sight of them, so I increased it to 300. 300 seems to be enough for everything so far. P4 1600 XP GF2Ti 27.42 drivers 320 megs of ram Ferrari FF Wheel When I say max graphics, what I mean is the 'other driver vehicle detail' setting is set to max. That controls the quality and distance of the opponent's car graphics. I should of been more clear. David G Fisher "JS" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...
