Here is a temporary fix for the initial Patch#2 bug: Go to the directory where F1 2001 is installed and rename the F1 2001.exe file to EXACTLY: "f1 2001 1.0.7.6..exe" (without the quotes, yes, with ALL of those dots) This should work until a proper release of Patch#2...

We would be back to a CD version until a No CD is out? And how does the 1074 and 1076 coexist in multpiplayer? "Alain" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:PYxh8.30395$[email hidden]...

Personally, that didn't work for me. I still get a crash to the desktop immediately after starting the game. "Alain" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:<PYxh8.30395$[email hidden]>...

Follow up, renaming the file as follows worked for me: f1 2001 1.0.7.6.exe (just one less .) "Alain" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:<PYxh8.30395$[email hidden]>...

LOL! It's because your Windows "Folder Options" are set to "Hide file extensions for known file types". This is Microsoft's way to hide simple things from users in order to confuse them. Because your "known" file extensions are hidden, when you rename an existing ".exe" file to "File..exe" Windows will change the name to "File..exe.exe" but display "File..exe"!! This is Microsoft stupidity at work. I suggest you change your folder options to clear up the confusion. Where are you finding this update? I went to EA's US site & drew a blank on a patch for F1 2001. "Doug Welzel" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Another Q: do you install the Update 1 & 2 patch and THEN the 2002 season upgrade? Or v.v.? Or 1, then 2002, then 2? "Steve Smith" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:FSJh8.62992$[email hidden]...
