I recently downloaded my first add-on track for GPL, and I expected alot of
problematic installation mods.
However, to my great surprise the track installer found my GPL directory and
installed itself. Are there any other GPL tracks that are self installing ?
What are their filenames and where can I download them ?

Good, isn't it? The great majority of GPL tracks these days do it all
for you - although not difficult, it used to be a right pain doing it
all manually. You won't be startled to hear that a major reason for
this is the availability of a util for just this purpose (called - I
think - "GPL Track Installer").
Steve's given you the relevant URLs above to find the stuff you want,
but in terms of which tracks to get I recommend (among others):
Solitude
Le Mans Sarthe
Castle Combe
Bathurst (Mount Panorama)
Goodwood
Bremgarten
There are (checks Magnus' page) 171 tracks around at the moment, so
you've got some way to go! (NB: you can "only" have 64 installed at
once, but there are utils around to help you manage tracksets.)
