Making a clutch pedal...

I've just ordered a GPL shifter to go with my old but trusty TM F1 (NASCAR) Pro wheel and pedals. After the shifter, I can't afford to go and import an exotic pedal set - and besides, I like the feel of my TM and buying without trying is a risk I'm unwilling to take lightly. Better the devil you know. Anyway, I'm sure I've got an old T2 stashed somewhere that's ripe for butchering, so how can I make use of it? While we're at it, anyone recommend something for cleaning the wheel pots? It's a bit spiky for the first few turns but then calms down... TIA Mark
