I recently upgraded my system to an Epox 8Kha+ mobo with Athlon XP1700
CPU and am generally very pleased with it. However, I decided to
continue to use my aging Voodoo5 videocard, mainly because of GPL and
the Glide Wrapper, but also because it still works fine with *most*
sims.
The main one that I wish to get better performance on is NR2002. So, I
was wondering whether overclocking my system would be worthwhile. I had
overclocked my old system (a Celeron 566@850) and it definitely was
worthwhile, but I'm just not sure how much a performace boost I would
get overclocking the Athlon, which is already pretty fast. (Note: I
have _not_ overclocked the Voodoo card. Would that make a significant
difference?)
Does anyone on RAS with a system similar to mine overclock their
system? If so, does it really make a noticable difference in the sims
you run? Again, if so, where would I then find instructions on
overclocking the Athlon using the Epox mobo in particular?
Thanks.
Bert
Have you tried a 64m Nvidia card yet?
