Since it's release, I've been successfully running NR2002 with the D3D
renderer at 1600x1200x32.
This morning, I decided that I'd try out OpenGL. Well, I reconfigured
the sim and then tried to load a replay, and the sim responded with the
"Can't load track" message. I then attempted to just start a single
race, and the program crashed to the desktop. I tried a couple of other
resolutions, and got the same results.
I just tried going back to the original D3D, and now, even that does the
same thing.
Is there a way to fix this without reinstalling the damn game?

Nevermind guys. I figured it out. The problem was that the game
apparently doesn't like a MaxBlockSize of 786432 - I backed it off to
524288, and it now works (but FPS are WAY down with OpenGL).

Just guessing, but open the app.ini in the n2002 folder and check
under the [Graphics] section this line:
lastRendererDLL=rend_d3d.dll ; Last renderer DLL
selected
Maybe it's still set to OpenGL on your system?
Otherwise simply backup your N2002 subfolders, reinstall the game and
copy your subfolders back to your N2002 folder.
That will take you about as much time as reading this post :)

Ok, forget my 'just reinstall it' post then :)
I have a MUCH lower fps in OpenGL too.
I have a GF2 GTS 32mb and a P3 866mhz, one of the answers I got when
posting this was that maybe my system was too slow to run openGL with
the texturesize set to 100. With the default text.size=-1 it runs with
about the same fps as in D3D but then the gfx are crap.
Oh well, D3D runs good enough for me.
