http://www.suse.com/us/products/suse_linux/i386/games.html Nice to see a "local" boy go big. :-P -- Fester "Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. It would be a good addition to Linux Mandrake "Gaming Edition". -- Scott B. My personal favorite linux distro too. =) Will this be in the 3 CD edition or just the Professional version? Also, has Racer made its way into the freeBSD ports collection yet? I think it would certainly be worthy assuming it compiles ok (I would imagine it would be fine). Jason

Doesn't say, but the games CD was included in the 3CD Personal Edition in 7.3 so I would assume it's the same with 8.0. > Also, has Racer made its way into the freeBSD ports collection yet? Nothing there. -- Fester "Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. I saw the announcement on SlashDot about 6pm and I've just finished downloading & burning all 3 ISO's, but alas no Racer there. -- Fester "Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. Haven't heard of any other Linux companies that might include it, just a German PC magazine that may include it on their next issue. :) Have been away for too long, multiple weeks abroad or in studios. Hopefully I can get back on Racer after this week. Ruud van Gaal Free car sim: http://www.racer.nl/ Pencil art : http://www.marketgraph.nl/gallery/

Hmmm, Mandrake only includes "free" (both as in free speech and free beer) software in their public downloads for legal reasons... who knows, we might see racer in their professional edition which comes on seven CD's. However as far as I know they have not contacted Ruud yet. Correct Uwe. When I re-read my message I could see I wasn't real clear. I was just looking for Racer itself there. I realize TransGaming's package wouldn't be there since it's commercial. -- Fester "Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword.
