Why cant i update my Nascar Racing 4?

Hi, ive got Nascar Racing 4, v 1.0.1.1 installed, and i cant get it to upgrade! Ive never liked Papyrus confusing way of updates. Why not release the SAME version worldwide, instead of this GPL and Nascar 4 thing, different versions in different country's :/ Even when i try the auto-updater, it fails to update my Nascar racing :( It just says "non valid version" :/ Its not a warez-version, ive got the real one and its making me mad that i cannot play this game, just cause of this crap. I've tried to patch with both US and International version, but none of them work. they fail at the same place.

Yes, i have done that. And everytime i run the updater, it starts to install the patch, but soon tells me that my Nascar racing4.exe is of an invalid version. I've tried to install the patch into other directorys but it doesnt matter. Have you installed any mods? I have never had much luck with automatic updaters. Definitely reinstall N4. A lot of mods can tweak the .exe without you even knowing it, rendering it 'invalid' to the updater. Kind of a way of curbing warez again (and makes things easier too) - only updates an unmolested, uncorrupted .exe. Milhouse

Did you perhaps install the first patch and are now trying to install the last patch? If so sometimes the first patch changed some of the file names which would give you this error message. Ok thanks guys for trying helping me. Maybe i should put more info, i have a GeForce2mx running 23.11 drivers. I did a clean install of the game, from original cd, no "nocd"-versions or so.
