Just got a new boxed copy of GPL on EBAY. (first time using that auction
thingy) and I have downloaded the following patches.
gpl12us.exe
gpl_d3d.exe
gpl_cpufix.exe
gpl_discofix.exe
Is there a particular order in which I should I install these? Lots of time
yet. It hasn't shipped yet? :O)
My sys = P4 1.8G, 512K, Nvidia GF3 Ti500, SB Audigy, WinXp Pro
Thanks in advance.

Not sure if it really matters but this is the order they came out from Papy:
1. gpl12us.exe (1.2 patch, mandatory. If you have the UK or German version
of GPL, find the 1.2 patch for that country)
2. gpl_d3d.exe (adds ability to run Direct3D, mandatory with your GF card)
3. gpl_discofix.exe (reduces disconnects on-line, only required if you run
online. Can't hurt even if you don't)
4. gpl_cpufix.exe (mandatory on your PC or GPL will run twice as fast as
normal)
I don't use the CPU patch since it isn't needed by my 1.3 (only 1.4 and up)
but otherwise that's the order I installed them and it works fine.

US version never required the CD, for which I am grateful. There's one CD
that would have been worn thin by now!
My GPL CD has been unopened through 3 computers now - I just burn my GPL
directory onto a CD and copy it to each PC in turn (zipping the directory
first to avoid hassles with read-only files).

If it's the budget version of GPL the 1.2 patch is in a folder on the
CD. You might have problems using the ones on the net.

Thanks for the heads up on this. Didn't know about the budget verson and
won't know which version it is until it gets here.
Are there any other "incompatabilities" I would have to worry about should
it be the budget version? You know, with addons etc.

gpl_cpufix.exe
gpl_d3d.exe
(the cpufix patch also includes the discofix).

No none at all. The only problem I've heard of is when people try and
use the net 1.2 patches on some budget versions instead of the CD one.
