N2002: Silverstone, Bullrun, and Clevland tracks for NASCAR 2002....

Silverstone, Bullrun and Cleveland converted for NR2002

Hog Racing released N4 tracks including Silverstone, Bullrun and Cleveland converted for NASCAR Racing 2002, which were welcomed by road-racing fans. The original data files had to be omitted for legal reasons, so users needed N4 or the GPL-to-N4 converter, and Goy Larsen hinted that selected GPL track conversions for NR2002 were coming. Several said NR2002 felt far more realistic than N4.

So since these files do not contain the Dat files - you must have the original N4 tracks - BUT what if you own the US vercion of N4 and N2K2 and don't have the DAT files? AM I out of luck - or can someone post? Brad "Arto Wikla" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:wikla.1019586236@kanasaari...

The US Version does not have the Silverstone track or Bullrun. Or do you copy the DAT files say from Watkins Glen or Sears Point? You can then use the modified mips to put the N4 Silverstone into N2002. Phil --- Racesim Central Administrator http://www.racesimcentral.com
It is "miles" better imo. I think as of now I only have very few issues where I can pin-point what to me is a weakness in the physics/simulation of these cars. I know there are people out there that had never tested N4 or N2002 and still deem GPL to be the crm de l crm .... - o'boy, it's time for them to wake up and smell the coffee! -- ed_ "Arto Wikla" wrote: > PS Perhaps it is only my imagination, but does N2002 really feel even > more realistic than N4? I cannot describe why, but so it feels... Absolutely.. that was the main reason I don't consider N2002 as an 'update' of N4.. it 'feels' WAY better. Andre

Um, maybe I'm dense, but all I did was dl them and follow the installation instructions in the readme file. Viola, I now have the new tracks installed. -- See ya in the pits, Dean I have a terrible memory. In fact my memory's so bad I can't remember how long it's been since I've forgotten anything. OOOh :) Sounds like a general GPL-->NR2002 converter is on it's way? If so I wonder how these heavy beasts will handle Rouen (masochist? moi? *grin*) Alan. RC tracks being as thin on the ground as they are I'll take what I can get :) Any chance of letting us in on *which* tracks? or is that still 'in the air' so to speak? Vennt. "Goy Larsen" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Maybe the first version of the tracks they offered for download contained the dat files. IMO these tracks should be good in N2002: Mosport, Silverstone, Monza, Spa, Watkins Glen, Kyalami and possibly Rouen.. These on the otherhand I think will be too twisty and generally be unsuited for stockcars; Monaco, Mexico, Nurburgring and possibly Rouen (heck some of them are even unsuited for GPL!) As for addon track.. Goodwood, Snetterton, Brands Hatch & sterreichring are just a few track that I would think should be cool in N2002... -- ed_
