I finally had the time to sit down and try the NR2002 patch. First the
good news - no change in frame rate in D3D (probably because I am using
a Radeon, not a GeForceX). Now the bad news - I cannot qualify at
Michigan without blowing an engine, and the game freezes after less than
10 laps. I then tried running the NoCD exe file for the old version,
and it still runs fine - no blown engines, no freezes. So whatever is
different is in the .exe file, not in any of the other files that were
updated. So I can race the AI still using the old NoCD, but I cannot
race online now. I know I am not the only one experiencing freezes with
the new patch. Back to the drawing board, Papy!
I would try reinstalling the patch, I am not having those problem at all.
Just ran a 20 lap Michigan myself with 3 others practicing and didn't have
any problems, but I am running in OpenGL with a Geoforce. The patch changed
the exe as well so you are missing out on more than just multi probably ...

I'm begining to think this might have had alot to do with the RASCAR
problems on Saturday.
