that's the problem, we have to elect the thief in order to block the nazi from power. french presidentila election system is different from yours (US) in the way that we don't have primaries, so we had 16 candidates in the first round, and the two with the most votes go to the second and final round, the problem is that the "left" had too many candidates and so the "leftist" vote got scattered and the leading socialist made 16% and the nazi made 17%, so you have the thief (Chirac) with 20% and the nazi (Le Pen) with 17% on round 2...
