Notable threadFIA GT Mod V3 released for F1 2001

Players praised version 3 of the FIA GT mod for F1 2001 as highly realistic. Demand overwhelmed the download servers, and Simbin's Ian Bell apologised and set up fragmented mirrors. Some planned to wait for F1 2002, which the mod team said could carry the mod over.

very VERY !VERY! good. It by far rivals any other game for realism, but not for graphics.... no other game comes close there :). Anyway this is gt mod time being wasted..... -- Luke -=87=-

Be warned, the mod is 88.7Mb big. BTW, since the main mod file is hosted on the RSC server I'd appreciate it if you let me know if you have any problems downloading it. Sounds nice, but with F12002 being released in a few days, I've already uninstalled F12001. David G Fisher "Luke Phillips" <(NOSPM)[email hidden]> wrote in message news:fYEK8.215335$[email hidden]... > very VERY !VERY! good. It by far rivals any other game for realism, butnot

Hmmm..well that's just stupid. With that outlook I guess you would not have even tried it if was released 3 months ago. Free mod that has had hundreds of hours put into it and you are too lazy to even try it..oh well! Sucks to be you! Not really - the GT Mod guys have already said the F12002 can carry over many of the mods with minimum effort - and while - yup - I'm gonna try the V3 mod on F12001 when I get home - THE TRACKS ALL BLOODY SUCK. Hopefully F12002 will fix this - THEN we'll be in sim heaven Doug
I have a problem with F1-2001 (and the mods) in that my brake seems "switched". As soon as I press it I get 100% brake. I really want to enjoy GT Mod V3!!! I have a Logitech Momo with TSW2 pedals wired to it. The pedal travel is seen properly in Control panel - and of course by all Papy sim's... Can anyone help? - David Cook "Luke Phillips" <(NOSPM)[email hidden]> wrote in message news:fYEK8.215335$[email hidden]... > very VERY !VERY! good. It by far rivals any other game for realism, butnot

Umm yea, but if you have the disc and you have a hard drive what effort does it take to try it??? Carryover maybe, but when? 1,2,3 months from now? What does it take to slip a cd into a drive and install?? Not a whole hell of a lot. I admit I am stuck on N2002 physics right now , but when things like this are given to me I will find the HD room and the time to give them a spin. It has a bar which moves as you press the pedals and shows you exactly how your pedal settings are behaving. You may need DXtweak to correct some split axis problems. Do your MOMO pedals exhibit the same problems? -- Damien Smith [email hidden] ICQ: 77028579 F1 2001 rank: -11.512
Try DXtweak2 if you have XP or Dxtweak if you have Win 98. The F1 sim has a prob with deadzone, but everybody blames it on DX8. You can get DXtweak2 here: http://www.wingmanteam.com/files/Tools/DXTweak2/ Then go to your pedal axis in the program. I have a LWFF red original set at Min-0, Cen-254, Max-290. The key is to get the 'Value' column to 32767 when your pedals are released. Anything over that number will be read as deadzone by the game. FatnSlo "David L. There are 4 mirrors on the way. The problem is that 3 of them didn't get the full download. We have set up some internal FTP's and the files are being grabbed. We had no idea it would be this heavy. Apologies for the hassle we've caused with this and I'll post immediately when the alternate download locations are available. I can't even connect to the racesim central forums at the moment, looks like the mod is too popular ;) I won't even attempt to download something that big on my 64k ISDN. Anyone in UK got a CD writer and the mod ? ;) I promise I'll mail a copy on to the next person :) -- Ian P <email invalid due to spam> "Chris H." <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:02LK8.105341$[email hidden]... > Looks like the system is pretty much stressed. If you can provide a faster server, free of charge, connected direct to the internet backbone of one of the top 10 European ISP's then I'm sure SBDT will be glad of an additional mirror. We did have some trouble earlier today coping with the unexpectedly high demand for the mod but our server admin has been able to get more bandwidth to cope with the download.
