Thank you Kari Ikonen for creating this great utility! It turns GPL from a session of overdriving the poor car (smashing it to pieces against the armco) to a great sim where I can race in my own (quite slow) tempo. This is the util which actually makes me appreciate the Nordschleife. I realise that this tool has been avaliable since 1998, but I'm in general against driving aids and altering AI. I haven't actually wanted to change it, until I realised what wonders AI can do to your laptimes in N2002. (In N2k2 I set the AI-speed so that I don't have to pass the last car, and when I do pass the last car, I raise the AI speed. [practise for multiplayer]) With new skidsounds and an AI I can compete with, I think I'm gonna spend some more hours with this great little sim. :-) Thanks Kari! /Carl

With the stock skid sounds, they tend to get drowned out by howling engines and such.
I asked about skidsounds a few days before writing this post, and Remco Moedt uploaded the sounds he's using. It's an excellent set. http://groups.google.com/groups?sourceid=navclient&q=Remco+replace%2Dsounds I also tried the skidsounds from F1-2001, which are quite nice. They just need to be raised in volume to work. /Carl "Tony L" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:GRCU8.389286$[email hidden]... > > "Carl Ribbegaardh" wrote ... > <snip> > > > > With new skidsounds and an AI I can compete with, I think I'm gonnaspend > > some more hours with this great little sim. :-) > > What skidsounds do you mean?
