Hi guys I'm new to the online racing world, and have just got hold of a copy of F1 2002. I'd like to be able to host a game for the guys at work, but I run my PC behind a Linksys firewall/router, connected to 1mb blueyonder connection. Does anyone know for definite what ports I need to forward to my machine to be able to host a game? I've seen various ranges of ports that need to be open, but no general consensus from anyone! Has anyone else out there managed to host games using a Linksys router without having to use the DMZ 'feature'?!! Thanks in advance for any info! Tim

Have you actualy tried to join a race? I have a Linksys router myself, and for 99.9% of the games I play I don't need to open ports unless I want to host a race. If I'm just a client then it "just works". I don't have 2002, but I don't remember having any problems with 2001. MadDAWG

Hi - Thanks, Yes, I can join races without any problems, but I need to be able to host races, which is where I need to be able to open the ports for others to connect... I don't know of any exact informaton about the ports used to host a F1 2002 game. Myself, I just use DMZ and it works just fine. Alanb "Tim" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:lg0X8.27061$[email hidden]...

f1relay.com has a small section about setting up F1 2001 for multi play. I'm betting those same ports will work for 2002. good luck. dave henrie "Alan Bernardo" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:t74X8.461720$352.74074@sccrnsc02... > I don't know of any exact informaton about the ports used to host a F12002

Really?? Are you sure?! My manual doesn't have it in it! On page 20, I have 'Racing Lines' - 'finding the limit'!! Maybe the UK manual is different?! F1 2002?! Thanks anyway - I'll give it a go!;-) Tim "Bob G" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:3d2dd886$[email hidden]...
