Tom Pabst's upgraded Sears Point track for NASCAR Racing 2002

Tom Pabst offered an improved Sears Point track for NASCAR Racing 2002 by email, asking for system specs so he could advise on settings. Some criticised the gatekeeping and urged a public upload, while he cited reasons including Papyrus's legal representatives. Those who got it praised it, and Pabst said a Watkins Glen version was in progress.

If you are a fan of the road courses in N2K2.....and you like running Sears, send me an email and I'll send you a better version of the track. Include your cpu/mobo/ram/video card specs and I'll give you some settings to make sure your FPS remains playable (if you don't give me that info, I won't respond to your email). This is a high res track.....don't ask for it if you don't have a strong computer system. TP

LOL, yeah Ed that's the way to convince him... Tom, if you're concerned people will bug you when it doesn't work on their system you have 3 options: 1. Optimize your graphics so it will (Eldred's 1.2 gig PC with Voodoo5 is far from obsolete) 2. Post a disclaimer and ignore the complaints. 3. Do as you're doing now but at least admit it's a power trip.
You and Ed need to get a life. I have very good reasons for doing what I'm doing......whether you like them or not is not really my concern. If you think a simple request of asking someone to send me an email is a "power trip"....then so be it. Tom, No offense, and I think I understand why you are doing it this way, but within 3 days it's going to get leaked onto a website, distributed among league friends, etc and be mass distributed regardless. Ok, if you see someone posting illegal parts of a Papy sim Tom, like a complete track, try getting them removed, if the owner of the site doesn't want to cooperate, you'd have to contact the hosting ISP, and these days they don't seem to care Beers and cheers (uncle) Goy http://www.theuspits.com "A man is only as old as the woman he feels........" --Groucho Marx--

If Goy is old then he will understand this... --------------------------------- ARTHUR: Old woman! DENNIS: Man! ARTHUR: Man. Sorry. What knight lives in that castle over there? Who's castle is that? WOMAN: King of the who? ARTHUR: The Britons. WOMAN: Who are the Britons? ARTHUR: Well, we all are. We are all Britons, and I am your king. WOMAN: I didn't know we had a king. I thought we were an autonomous collective. DENNIS: You're fooling yourself. We're living in a dictatorship: a self-perpetuating autocracy in which the working classes-- WOMAN: Oh, there you go bringing class into it again. DENNIS: That's what it's all about. If only people would hear of-- ARTHUR: Please! Please, good people. I am in haste. Who lives in that castle? WOMAN: No one lives there. ARTHUR: Then who is your lord? WOMAN: We don't have a lord. ARTHUR: What? DENNIS: I told you. We're an anarcho-syndicalist commune. We take it in turns to act as a sort of executive officer for the week,... ARTHUR: Yes. DENNIS: Well, but you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you! ARTHUR: Shut up! DENNIS: I mean, if I went 'round saying I was an emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away! ARTHUR: Shut up, will you? Shut up! DENNIS: Ah, now we see the violence inherent in the system. ARTHUR: Shut up! DENNIS: Oh! Come and see the violence inherent in the system! Help! Help! I'm being repressed! ARTHUR: Bloody peasant! Goy...you must not have raced Scott during is "fast" years in sim racing? Huh? He was "just fast enough"....to irritate you. Then you'd crash trying to sneak around him........he'd claim it was "warp!" If that didn't work....... He'd feign a spin.....wait for you to come around the next lap.....then pull out in front of you! Claiming all the while his "look left, look right" keys on his keyboard were dirty or something, not working properly! I'm absolutely positive most of the "wreckers" we have on the Sierra Servers these days, have read Scott's manual, "How To Be A Wrecker - And Win" ......a book which he made famous during the TEN days. His sequel manuscript, "Wreck To Win"......is also a best seller on GPL-VROC, I understand. You see, Goy.....you could never possibly beat Scott. You have to first finish....in order to finish first. That was impossible when Scott Husted was in a race! I'm sure now you have a better understanding of the situation? ROFLMAO Goy is that old man in the Toyota commercial yelling at the Celica to slow down when it's parked along the curb. 8-) Hey.. I also believe Pierre Robitaille is a member of the "Beaten by Husted" club as well from our TEN - OSCAR FB2 days! Oh yeah, I also whipped Jure Zagoricnik at Indy in F1 2001, and I HATE "WWF1". Then why don't you post what YOU consider a minimum spec system? As it is, you have the final say, and can deny access simply because you might not like the person requesting. You might give it to one person who only has a 1G system, but NOT give it to someone with a 1.4, "claiming" the system isn't powerful enough.
