I gotta remember to drop the tape setting a notch or two. I *think* that was the suggestion a couple months ago. Hope I remember to bring the game CD to work tomorrow, or else I won't be able to do it... Haven't decided on the races following that - gotta check the NASCAR schedule. :-) It's just that we never changed the default setups for any of the other tracks as far as I know. Has it been shown that this setup is no good as is for a longer race? David G Fisher

They kept blowing engines. They dropped the tape setting one or two clicks, and everyone was ok.. Have you tried running it on a long run? I haven't, so I took him at his word... is > for a longer race? > > David G Fisher > Eldred is referring to me and my league. We ran our fixed setup races with <fast> setups at 70 and Clear for 30% lengths. With this setup, anyone that was 'behind' another car for more than say 5-7 laps, drafting, the motors were popping left and right. We had 10 guys in the event and fully 8 of the 10 participants lost an engine in practice. We took the stock tape setting down 5% (one click) and restarted. One engine was lost in the race, but I think that person had some front end damage and we cannot absolutely attribute that to the setup. Had I not done that, I was going to have a mutiny and my guys are staunch fixed setup lovers, so you know it was bad. I still say I can't recall whether this occurred before or after the second patch came out. If it was before, they may have fixed it within the last patch. I also recall another league saying that Coca Cola gave them problems with the default <fast> setup and just ignored the data until our race occurred there, we found they were correct, however, YMMV. We also had some guys lose engines in Q before their second lap was complete...(even with the corrected tape). Just FYI on that deal.
So we don't all blow up. The fast setting is at 45% tape, and apparantly leagues are reporting that you can't run with that. -Larry "David G Fisher" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:3yFZ8.160458$[email hidden]...
