Logitech wingman is an excellent wheel. For about 40 bills more you can get the FF one. Alanb "Pinto" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

I can't believe the guy said it was an excellent wheel. Compared to what? It's a POS. As always, you get what you pay for. Hope you don't drive ALOT. "Pinto" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

If you don't need FF, it's pretty cheap and ought to do pretty well to begin with. Here in the UK, dabs.com will do you one for about 40, which works out at around 60, I think. If you can spare a bit more cash, the MS FF Wheel is very common and generally well thought of. -- "After all, a mere thousand yards... such a harmless little knoll, really" - Raymond Mays on Shelsley Walsh. I'm happy with mine and its' lasted all of seven months so far. When my son gave it to me for Christmas, he included an extended warranty; so I'm not too worried about how long it's going to last. Jim Pinto wrote:

Name better wheels in the $100 or less price range. For an inexpensive wheel it does pretty well. For a wheel in the $300-$750 price range it doesn't. Are you thinking of the GP version or the original LWFF? If he can get a LWFF I'd say thats pretty god. Now if it is the GP I'd say keep looking. MadDAWG

True but it is USED, and you never know what shape it will be in when you get it. There are 2 versions of the Logitech Wingman FF. The original was excellent but the GP model is terrible. The latest model is called "Momo" and it is excellent. If you get a "cheap" wheel you may not enjoy your sim racing experience enough to replace it with a better one later. If you really enjoy sim racing then a good wheel is a good investment. The "Momo" is the minimum I would recommend. I'm not sure about the MSFF. I think he said "cheap". Paying $200 for a wheel is not a cheap price. What beef do you have with the LWFF GP wheel? Is it the pedals? I have one and am pleased with it. I'm guessing that because you have a Momo, all other wheels are terrible. A Mercedes owner may call a Camero cheap simply because he has a Mercedes, which I think is what's happening with you. <sfx: "Money Money Money"...> Well, I'm biased as I've had, and liked a lot, two MSFFs, but I do think they're good wheels. They're about 90 in the UK, and I think that's a reasonable price. The fact that they've barely gone down in price for two years, despite the competition, yet very few people have complained that they're too expensive, ought to tell you something. In the final analysis, though, the best wheel is the one you driver best with - personal preference counts for a lot here. -- "After all, a mere thousand yards... such a harmless little knoll, really" - Raymond Mays on Shelsley Walsh. It was in great shape and I've been having a blast with it in GPL and F1 2001. - Ted
