Rockingham UK oval released for NASCAR Racing 2002

Colin Harris announced MotorsportSims.com's Rockingham (UK) track for NASCAR Racing 2002. Kevin Webb's confusion over a slow restricted version was resolved when others noted the installer includes both an ASCAR and a Cup version. The thread then argued about renamed subject lines and newsreader threading.

Guys, don't know if anyone's mentioned this on here, but did you know that Sox finished Rockingham, the UK Ascar track, for N2002? You can get it from - http://www.motorsportsims.com A mirror at http://www.fastfoodracing.co.uk/rockingham.exe and it's really excellent. Apologies if someone else posted this info... Now, is someone working on Milwaukee? Always liked that place... -- Colin ICQ 25485061 FFRL Triv: http://www.chbr18476.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ FFRL: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/fastfood/ffrl/index.html

I love any track with some character which this one seems to have. Now how about some setups? On a sidenote, if you haven't got Peoria yet, it is WELL worth it. The AI kicks the shit out of Papy's pitiful AI. They will actually slow down going into a corner when they are behind you. AMAZING after driving offline with the absurd Papyrus AI. How does AI get worse from Nascar Papy edition to edition released by this company. Unbelievable. "Colin Harris" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:4mj29.5983$[email hidden]...

Restrictor plates? I thought it was just the fast setup was bad but I tried setup after setup Hell, using the coca cola setup the rev limiter kicks in aroun 6200 and no matter what I do I can't get any faster than about 150. Very dissapointing.

You've probably got the ASCAR version. ASCAR (UK stock car racing) uses lower powered engines to save money. There should be an unrestricted version included in the same installer. "Kevin Webb" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Clipped from the track readme: ******ROCKINGHAM MOTOR SPEEDWAY FOR NASCAR RACING 2002****** ******By MotorsportSims.com****** This program will install TWO versions of the track on your hard drive. One version will be to simulate ASCAR race cars, the other to simulate Winston Cup race cars. The ASCAR series is an ASA based oval racing series, run in the UK and Germany on Europes newest oval race tracks - Rockingham (in the UK) and the Lausitzring (in Germany). The two tracks will be called Rockingham-ASCAR and Rockingham-CUP. The ASCAR version has a 7000rpm limit and has modified grip settings to simulate the lighter cars (but with essentially the same tires). Sheer magic...tons of downforce, lots of Horspower...The Golden age of 1 mile ovals and CART. Then I got ICR2 with vastly reduced downforce(CART rule changes not Papy's fault) and also got a T2 wheel...sheeesH! I couldn't get close to the old times...and keeping the throttle down for that flat oval??? No chance... I've said it before...ICR1 ruined me as a driver...ya didn't need to worry about lines, or technique or any of that.....just throw the car deep into the turns and hang on... But yeah... Milwaukee was a fav with me back in the fuzzy ages too... dave henrie

Did I really need to? Really? Had this post been not been in a thread titled N2002 Rockingham UK I could see why someone would not have understood what I was talking about however it was. "> Depends on your news reader, I see you use OE, in Netscape it's def NOT" That is something I was unaware of. I've always used OE, or now i use outlook reader. I didn't realize it was being viewed as seperate thread. My bad fellas, whoever is left and reading this. While I have been reading newsgroups for years, I certainly don't know all the parameters nor have I ever cared enough to spend the time to learn what a kill file was or the different viewing functions of different readers. It's just not that big a part of my internet experience. See it, read it, sometimes post it. Obviously some folks here take this alot more seriously than I do. I would say to the other extreme but so be it. It's your party and I am sure you like it the way you want it, not always the way it is. I couldn't figure out how readers coudn't figure out what I was talking about. Obviously I do now. Live and learn. Anyways, sorry for this seemingly amazing confusionfest. Well, I should qualify my statement I guess, I sort messages by subject, in which case your original post to this "new" thread was the first in a new thread, if I configure my newsreader in another way, it does indeed show up in the Rockingham thread, never noticed that before, as you say, learn something new every day Beers and cheers (uncle) Goy http://www.theuspits.com "A man is only as old as the woman he feels........" --Groucho Marx--

I get messages sorted by "subject".....:-), and then by date/time, instead of collaborating messages connected together, makes it easier to find the messages from people who's messages I take the time to read I usually start out by reading the first couple of messages in a thread, if the subject looks interesting I keep reading, if not I scroll down to see if any of the "regulars" are posting to it, if not, I mark thread read and move to the next, if I see a message by say Steve Smith, I read his message to see if the thread picked up at some point, if it did I go back and read the whole thread, in which case it doesn't really matter what way I sort it If people quote the important bit from the message they reply to, this is a pretty good way to sort it, and if they don't, there's always the "references" links at the top which takes me straight to previous message in the thread Force of habit more than anything else I guess, the first time went online, back in 95, the guy who helped me set up my computer used Netscape and he used it this way, so it stuck I guess :-) Beers and cheers (uncle) Goy http://www.theuspits.com "A man is only as old as the woman he feels........" --Groucho Marx--

This is the first add-on for N2K2 I've tried and I get and error 0 when running it. I presume there's something extra I need for add-ons that is common knowledge to all but me??? Any help here would be hot. Cheers, Mark Reading, UK
