RASCAR: Another Practice Server?

John Simmons offers RASCAR practice servers

John Simmons proposed hosting RASCAR practice servers on Tuesdays and Thursdays using the next scheduled track. Members welcomed it, and a problem joining the race server was traced to a mis-typed Sierra ID on the roster.

Is anyone interested in a practice server that is available everyday (or at least on certain days)? I was thinking of running one (I can only host 10-15 drivers at a time) on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and it would be running whatever track that's coming up next in our schedule. It will be using an invite list reasonably similar to Eldred's (except that my list includes ZZBusch - grin). If you're on the roster with a Sierra ID, you're on the invite list. At this time, I'm considering running three practice races per day, at 3pm, 6pm, and 9pm eastern. This should allow almost everyone in the group a viable chance to test online in a (semi-)controlled environment, no matter where they live. Races will be 25%, and practices will be 30 minutes. Anyone up for it? (This week, it will be running Bristol Night.) -- ========================================================= Redneck Techno-Biker & "programming deity" http://www.paddedwall.org/john DeMONS/1 for Nascar Racing 3 & Nascar Legends http://www.paddedwall.org/demons DeMONS/2 for Nascar Racing 4 and 2002 Season (in development) http://www.paddedwall.org/demons2 RASCAR Roster http://www.paddedwall.org/rascar Barbarian Diecast Collector (490+ cars and counting) http://www.paddedwall.org/diecast If you want to send me email, go to the first URL shown above & click "Send Me Mail" in the contents frame. =========================================================
Cool John ,I'll join in the fun when I can. Even if Eldred forgot me, I'll race on your server. <grin> you going put a recognizable name on it? How he forgot me I don't know. I would be interested, work permitting. Hope it can be organized enough so that we at least get around 10 drivers. I would probably race at the 9 east time. Brian Oster On Sun, 18 Aug 2002 16:06:07 GMT, John Simmons <[email hidden]> wrote:

He posted a message on racesimcentral that he couldn't join the server yesterday. The only thing that I can think of is that he's either not on the list, or you spelled his sierra ID wrong when you added him. :) -- ========================================================= Redneck Techno-Biker & "programming deity" http://www.paddedwall.org/john DeMONS/1 for Nascar Racing 3 & Nascar Legends http://www.paddedwall.org/demons DeMONS/2 for Nascar Racing 4 and 2002 Season (in development) http://www.paddedwall.org/demons2 RASCAR Roster http://www.paddedwall.org/rascar Barbarian Diecast Collector (490+ cars and counting) http://www.paddedwall.org/diecast If you want to send me email, go to the first URL shown above & click "Send Me Mail" in the contents frame. =========================================================

Ahhh, so there lies the rub. I asked everyone last week to verify that their Sierra ID was correct on the roster page, and yours is not. I'll correct it as soon as I send this message. -- ========================================================= Redneck Techno-Biker & "programming deity" http://www.paddedwall.org/john DeMONS/1 for Nascar Racing 3 & Nascar Legends http://www.paddedwall.org/demons DeMONS/2 for Nascar Racing 4 and 2002 Season (in development) http://www.paddedwall.org/demons2 RASCAR Roster http://www.paddedwall.org/rascar Barbarian Diecast Collector (490+ cars and counting) http://www.paddedwall.org/diecast If you want to send me email, go to the first URL shown above & click "Send Me Mail" in the contents frame. =========================================================

Well now I may be able to test my driving skills(or lack of) against you guys. No sooner had I registered with Rascar, my work hours changed, making it impossible for me to race. May be able to join in for some practice on tuesdays. If nobody objects that is. Steve Whitty steve_w05
