Looking at this soundcard to replace the Aureal 2 I have that half the time wont give me engine sound in NR2002 in the behind the wheel view. Sound Blaster Live Value 5.1 Digital Surround Capable - PCI. Now this one is higher than just the SB live, but both seem cheaper than the Turtle beach. Is the SB digital value the one everyone is having trouble with in N2002 or the plain live value? I mean in sound and frame rate sucking. or should I just burn the dough for the Turtle Beach card? ANy help guys!!??

I replaced my SB Audigy with Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, and couldn't be happier. Mainly running NR02, GPL & RT. You should be able to find the Santa Cruz for less than $70. The nice thing about sound cards is they don't become old as fast as video cards so your investment stays around alot longer. I guess what I'm saying is spend the extra few bucks and get the best because you have it alot longer. I have sworn off Creative Labs sound cards after all their problems. I have a Philips AE in one machine and a Santa Cruz in the game machione. I'm set for a long time now. MadDAWG

Ditto... I've had the TBSC for nearly 2 years now, I think, and I've developed no desire to replace it whatsoever. Not many computer parts do that for me :) If it were to break, I'd buy another one in an instant. -Larry "MadDAWG" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > The nice thing about sound cards is they don't become old as fast as video > cards so your investment stays around alot longer. Thanks Larry and Mad Dawg. looks like I will be finding me a turtle beach, however I am intrigued about the Phillips Acustic Edge, is it just an older card DAWG? I bought my vortex's (bought 2 for 25 bucks about 2 years ago due to XP wasn't going to support vortex 1's I had originally. Looks like Newegg is the best price on the T.B., unless you guys know of somewhere that price-watch doesn't check? Just make sure it is a retail box, and NOT an OEM. The only OEM of the TBSC I know of is the Dell, but these days you never know what the hell someone is selling you. Standard TBSC drivers reportedly do not work properly with the Dell OEM version, and the drivers have to come from Dell only. -Larry "Plowboy" <Plowboy'[email hidden]> wrote in message news:3d6bdacd$[email hidden]... > Thanks Larry and Mad Dawg. > > looks like I will be finding me a turtle beach, however I am intrigued > about the Phillips Acustic Edge, is it just an older card DAWG?
