gpseason and gp ini files

Hi all, There are 2 ini files in the GPL season folder.. one labeled gpseason and the other labeled gp. I will assume that the gpseason ini file contains the tracks for the season championship.. Is this correct? Also, is there any way to get more and or different tracks to show up in the "Best Laps" screen? Thanks in advance, Tim Ferrell

I think there is a utility at one of the big gpl sites that will let you swap out 11 different tracks...I don't think it allows you to just add more tracks, but I think it did allow you to create another group of tracks and use those for a gp season and also display on the best laps screen. dave henrie (I think, therefore I, I'm not sure.........)

Yes but it buggers up your player.ini so you can't submit your GPLrank as the tracks are different. Easiest way to save your PBs for other tracks is to grab a couple of seconds of a replay from the session, load up Replay Analyser and get it to display all your PBs which it gets from your replay files. I couldn't remember the name of the util, but it has more limitations than only being able to display your 11 best - I believe the number of letters in the track name has to equal the number of the original. Thus, you can't swap in Bugatti for Rouen, it has to be Bugat or Leman. Bummah! Question 1: Wrong, the gp.ini is the file that controls what tracks are incorporated in a championship season. The file 67season.ini holds the tracks you can use in single race, training, and multiplayer mode. The maximum number of tracks GPL can handle at one time is 64. There are several utilities available to manage the 67season.ini file. I prefer GPL Track Manager by Ray Geering. Available in the Utilities section at http://gplpp.com Question 2, part 1: No, 11 tracks are hard coded into both GPL.EXE and the BESTLAPS.LYT. Question 2, part 2: You can use GPLSeason by Nigel Pattinson to swap tracks in the best laps screen. Might be a problem with string lengths as mentioned in another reply, I have no idea since I have only done it by hand which doesn't have any severe limitations on string length (a bit scary though). It is also possible to correct spelling errors and non-complete track names if you want to.
