It seems that most racing sim drivers say that IndyCar 2
(I think the name was changed to CART 2) by Papyrus is the most
realistic sim of Indy car type racing.
CART Precision Racing by Microsoft has nice graphics but runs
slow frame rates and the computer cars are not very smart.

I've got both CPR and ICR2(aka CART), and for realism my choice is ICR2.

Just my opinion, of course.

MS-CPR was to be the next generation, but lacks the "sole" that a
good sim must have.  ICR2, although not the latest in technology,
has "sole" to spare, and is a wonderful sim.

MS-CPR: $29.95 ~ $50.00
ICR2/CART Racing: $9.95 ~ $19.95

I invite you to make your own comparison.  MS-CPR can be downloaded
at the Microsoft site: http://www.microsoft.com/games/ , while ICR2
(now known as CART Racing) can be downloaded at the following sites:

Sierra: http://www.sierra.com/
The Sim Project: http://www.simproject.com/
The Pits: http://www.theuspits.com/

BTW, there's a TON of add-ons for ICR2, but not much 3rd-party stuff
for MS-CPR.  Also, MS-CPR allows for several to hook-up over a LAN
or on the 'net, while ICR2 only allows for head-to-head modem.

I'm obviously the odd one in the bunch but from your statement "ps....I'm more into realistic driving then if the scenery is pretty" I'd be willing to bet you'll like CPR much better. I don't know if the demo allows setup options but it's impossible to drive if you use the stock setups. If you can, this is a place to find setups and info http://members.xoom.com/paradisecart/

Comparatively ICR2 is a dog.

PS Keep in mind that I am a NO-Helps sim driver. So I guess the driving model must be a certain way for me to enjoy a game.

Marc, do you mean "sole" as in what's on the bottom of your footwear
(apart from dog poop) or "soul" as in "This music has SOUL, baby!!" ?
