New MSFFW ?

by Larr » Thu, 10 Oct 2002 11:29:44

I was at Best Buy today, and I noticed something I hadn't seen before.

A new MSFFW box, and the wheel was, at least cosmetically, different.

The grips are now red.  The center hub section was not black, but a grey-ish
color.  The center "Force" button was also a bit different.

Other than that, I noted no differences.  The two boxes are very different,
however.

I looked at the UPC and they both still said MSFFW v1.0 USB yada yada yada.

Oh, and there was a sticker on the new box saying "#1 selling Force-Feedback
Wheel".

You'd think that if it's the #1 selling wheel, they would get off their
asses and update the stupid software for a change.  It's been over TWO YEARS
since you've touched it Microsoft!

I still think it's hilarious that Microsoft awarded themselves Windows XP
WHQL Lab certification on software that tells you it's not compatible with
2K/XP when you try to install it.  LOL!
