What is your GPL2 Dream?

I think you meant Jacque's father, Gilles Villeneuve.

I'd like to see it more open architecture, so that different car types can
be added, sort of like plug-ins. If it was structured well, you could have a
huge database of tracks (as GPL now has), and allocate each of them to a
given years calendar, along with the car types appropriate to that year. We
could then race pretty much whatever season we wanted, even 1967, but with
better modelling in all aspects. Alternatively, we could race whatever cars
we wanted on any choice of tracks, like an F2002 Ferrari at Bremgarten, etc.
However, this may not be easy!

Dreams, dreams, dreams,

Andrew.

What is your GPL2 Dream?

Hey Jason, quick question. Wasn't Gunnar Nilsson a motorcycle hot shot
(motocross) before turning to F1? It seems as though the old memory is up to
its old tricks once again so I'm not too sure...

I have a terrible memory. In fact my memory's so bad I can't remember how
long it's been since I've forgotten anything.

A big sign in Woolworths saying "GPL2 available now".

After watching a vintage Trans-AM race on Speed, I'd really like to have a
1970's T/A sim. Big cars, skinny tires, no brakes and close competition.

Too bad they apparently stopped working on that Trans-Am mod for F1 2001...

DoktorB lives!
GPL history can be found at
http://doktorB.fateback.com

There's the first known published screenshot from Sierra's Interact
Magazine, and some rare screenshots of an pre-release version of GPL with
different menus.

There's also a special screenshot on the 2nd page which I'm surprised I've
never seen mentioned before on RAS.
"Graham Hill was the coolest driver. He won all the races and his hair never
moved" !!!!
Was some Papy employee drunk one night when they made that page- most of the
sentences don't make sense, but when they do, they'll make you chuckle :o)
