Young children, looking to impress.  By the time they've grasped the
notion this stuff is for the birds, they're hooked both physically &
mentally.  Then you're in the same basic position as the coke and/or
*** junkie.  Most will die before sucessfully kicking the habit.  But
not because they don't want to.  (I've known plenty of them. :-/ )

I didn't mean to suggest that postal workers were watching me or any other
delusion.  Hell, some of my best friends are letter carriers.  :-)  I just
meant that he knows better than anyone how many "wacky" groups I belong to.  My
best friend works for the NSA, if I were a paranoid type, he would send me
straight off.  And just as a special hi for the carnivore system, I'd like to
say ANTHRAX.

Well, if you stopped smoking that long ago try it for once
again. Sometimes, when I've had a couple too much at a party or
so, I have a fag.

You relax. Your arms feel all funny,*** down from your
shoulders. You experience a strange feeling inside your nervous
system.

It's a drug, and I only came to realize this when I was off of
it and experienced the effects first hand. Very strange!

It's nice to have made the transition from an "***ed smoker"
to "one that smokes at parties, maybe once a year" smoker.

Cheers,

uwe

Well, I have had the odd smoke since so I know what you're talking
about, but why I *started* to smoke in the first place is beyond me

10 years w/o cigarette after 15 years of smoking here.
Feeling better now.
Should now concentrate on cutting down on that bottle vodka for breakfast ;-)

I smoked a pack a day for over 40 years and had absolutely no trouble
quitting.

Some say it's a matter of willpower but in my case all it took was getting
lung cancer and having the better part of my right lung removed.    ;o)

Haven't had a smoke in 4.5 years. . .     and counting.

Yeah, I can imagine that would be an incentive to quit smoking, good to
hear you made it through

AFAIK I have suffered no permanent damage from my stupidity, at least
nothing noticeable, sometimes luck plays a big part and one day I just
felt like quitting and did so

Well, in light of the information you gave above, you ought to be
committed to some kind of institution to be protected from yourself if
you ever started smoking again :-)
